Dartmoor is a family favourite for a local wild adventure. With it’s harsh weather and wonderful expanses, I feel free and it reminds me of the vastness of the Kalahari plains where I spent some of my childhood. This painting was created after one such family visit to Dartmoor in autumn. Acrylic layers were built up and then excavated back into using various mark-making tools – symbolic of the scars seen in this ancient landscape.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.
