I loved working on this colourful, vibrant piece, which was inspired by life here in the SW of England. The season of Spring also had an influence with magnolias blossoming in my garden at the time of creating it. My process includes building up layers of acrylic, ink and collage and then working back with various mark-making tools to create a rich surface texture and balanced composition. The abstract nature allows the viewer their own interpretation – my daughter sees a flamingo – what can you see?

The painting is signed on the back as I love all the orientations and decided the buyer could decide this for themselves. The surface is protected with UV safe varnish.
