Created at the start of the pandemic, this piece explored issues arising at that time. These included shattered hopes, confronting reality, community spirit rising up, rediscovering nature’s beauty through daily countryside walks, navigating a hopeful course and finding a new normal.
The process included layering acrylic paint and piecing together fragments through mixed media, then drawing, scraping and sanding – metaphorically delving deeper to discover what lies beneath and our hidden strengths in times of turmoil.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.
