This piece forms part of a small abstract collage series inspired by the landscape surrounding my home studio here in the South West of England. I really enjoy building up layers and playing with the design – a process of addition and subtraction until a balanced composition is found. I included collage papers made during a collage workshop which I ran earlier in the year using acrylic painting and gelli plate printing, here specifically prints of leaves and seedheads found in my garden. I especially love the lichen-like mottled effect the printing created.
The painting is signed on the back and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.
